Mr. Hayden always seemed to me to be a kind gentle person. I remember him especially as one of the cafeteria monitors in our sophmore year. One day he was sitting at a table by himself with his hands covering his face. I went over to him, sat down and asked him if he felt ok. He said that he wasn't feeling very well and within a few days he was gone.

Milt Hayden was my biology teacher from 10th grade. He came to class in the winter wishing he lived in Tahiti, claiming he was allergic to anything cold, even the newspaper brought inside during January was enough to give Milt pneumonia. But Milt was the best teacher I ever had, including my stints at two universities. He made me WANT to learn. For the idiot boy I was then, that was a magical feat. I think he taught me to have passion and to always be inquisitive about everything. For some of us, the dead always come back to life.                                              Christos Morris
