Chris Alan Levy
August 20, 1944 - August 19, 2024
It saddens us to share that Chris Levy died on August 19, 2024 at 79, one day shy of turning 80. He is survived by Marion Levy, his beloved wife of more than 56 years; children, Danielle Levy and Max Levy; grandchildren, Charlie Levy and Louie Levy; brother, Michael Levy; brother & sister-in-law, Robert Levy & Shari Levy,;brother in-law & sister-in-law, Steve Hershfield & Roslyn Hershfield; brother in-law, Robert Yapo; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Gloria Levy; and sister in-law, Janice Yapo. Born in Los Angeles, raised in St. Louis Park, and residing in Minneapolis; Chris first met Marion in 1961 at St. Louis Park High, marrying her in 1967. After a stint in the Army and a few other jobs, Chris found his way to insurance in 1970, working in that industry as an agent thereafter. Slow to embrace technology, he was firmly analog in this digital age. He served on the board of Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly. As a lover of music and the arts, he was on the board of Schubert Club for many years. Chris and Marion spent many a weekend afternoon on long country drives. A loving son, husband, father and, especially, grandfather to Charlie and Louie, Chris had many friends and as a gregarious and generous soul was forever picking up the check. If you wish, think of him not as gone but merely unavailable. If there is an afterlife, Chris is there now worrying that his beard trim was uneven while complaining that his soup isn’t hot enough. Funeral service 1:30 pm, FRIDAY, August 23rd at HODROFF-EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 126 E. Franklin Ave, Minneapolis. Memorials in memory of Chris are preferred to the donor's favorite charity.
