Stan Turner

August 18, 1944 – September 21, 2025

Age 81, of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Passed away September 21, 2025.

Stan was preceded in death by parents Harold and Mabel Turner.

Stan was a prominent journalist reporting the news from the studios of KSTP TV for 35 years. He enjoyed politics, history, reading, and traveling. He had a voracious appetite for knowledge by reading and researching. His integrity was paramount and always had high regard for education. He earned his journalism degree at the University of Minnesota School of Journalism and earned an honorary degree in Media Law from William Mitchell School of Law. He was also fluent in the German language. He was loved by many for his charisma and ability to tell stories with enthusiasm and fervor. To many, his voice will live on forever. He was a wonderful father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and companion. He will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by daughters Laura (David) Schubkegel and Katherine (Randall) Urich, son John (Penny) Turner, sister Donna Cannon, nieces Lynne Cannon, Heather Cannon, nephew Kevin Cannon, special friend and colleague Tom Oszman, and special lady and beloved companion Mary Brennan. He will be cherished by many friends, colleagues, and his extended family in Canada and Great Britain.

Special thanks to those that cared for Stan: All those at Regions Hospital and HealthPartners Clinics & everyone at Our Lady of Peace Hospice.
