By September of '62 I'd moved from St. Louis Park to Palm Springs, California and two years later I joined the USAF, where after a year of training was sent to England for 3 years.
It was there I met Norma, my wife of 46 years. Together we have 2 children, a son, a daughter and one granddaughter.
We've lived in San Diego county since 1969, where I've worked in the aerospace industry as a design engineer.
Over the years I've been fortunate enough to work on many fun projects, RCA SATCOM satellite, ACMR "Top Gun" air combat maneuvering range, Hubble telescope to name a few. Prior to retirement I'd been, for over 8 years, the configuration manager for Predator unmanned aircraft.
My wife has been a oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolor artist most of our married life and in 1994 convinced me to join the local art community with my photography.
We set-up most weekends on the lawn in front of the Carlsbad Inn in Carlsbad, CA and sell our work. This seems to keep me off the streets and out of the bars. {:-)
Retirement is great and I don't know how I ever found time to work.
We like to travel and about to go on our 13th cruise. We also have a time share that we trade through RCI and venture off to other out of the way destinations.
We dance a lot. In the '70's we started square dancing. I became a square dance caller and went on to teach round dance. Round dance is a structured form of easy level ballroom dance. Today my wife and I dance at every opportunity. When we go on a cruise, we spend every night on the dance floor, until they kick us out.
We live in a country club so when we are home we get involved in everything: golf, swimming, pool, chorus, shuffle board, bingo, movies and a ton of parties. Oh, doctors visits, another activity we seen to be doing more of these days. {:-(
Well, that's my life in a nutshell. I had a great time at the 50th reunion and only wish I could have had more time to talk with everyone who attended.
